Emirates to Deploy Next-Generation A350 on Entebbe Route in Major Network Upgrade

Emirates has announced a sweeping series of aircraft deployments and cabin upgrades across its global network, including the introduction of its next-generation A350 aircraft on services to Entebbe, Uganda.

From March 29, flights EK729/730 between Dubai and Entebbe will be operated by the new Emirates A350, marking the debut of the airline’s latest aircraft type in Uganda. The move forms part of Emirates’ broader fleet modernisation programme aimed at enhancing passenger comfort and expanding its Premium Economy offering worldwide.

The Emirates A350 features a three-class configuration accommodating 298 passengers. The aircraft includes 32 next-generation Business Class seats, 28 Premium Economy seats, and 238 Economy Class seats designed with generous pitch for added comfort.

The deployment to Entebbe comes as Emirates continues to expand its Premium Economy footprint. The airline expects its Premium Economy network to grow to 99 destinations by the end of 2026, offering travellers more choice and a more consistent onboard experience.

In addition to the A350 rollout, Emirates will introduce its first retrofitted high-density A380 aircraft on April 14. The upgraded aircraft will transition from a two-class to a three-class configuration, featuring 76 Business Class seats, 56 Premium Economy seats, and 437 Economy Class seats.

The first reconfigured A380 will operate flights EK903/904 between Dubai and Amman from April 14 to May 31, before being deployed on the Dubai–Prague route (EK139/140) from June 1. By November, Emirates expects to complete the retrofit of all 15 of its two-class A380 aircraft into the new three-class layout.

Beyond Uganda, Emirates is introducing several aircraft upgrades across Europe, North America, Asia, the Middle East and the Indian Ocean.

In North America, flights EK201/202 to New York JFK will be served by a four-class retrofitted A380 from March 2 on selected days, increasing to daily service from June 1. Zurich will see a four-class A380 with Premium Economy starting March 1, while Milan and Dublin will receive retrofitted Boeing 777-200LR aircraft equipped with Premium Economy later in the year.

Across Asia, Ho Chi Minh City will be served by a retrofitted three-class Boeing 777-200LR from May 1, while Hong Kong and Guangzhou routes will be upgraded to A380 services from October, with Hong Kong transitioning to a retrofitted A380 featuring Premium Economy from December.

In the Middle East, Basra will receive a retrofitted four-class Boeing 777-300ER from May 1. Meanwhile, Mauritius will be served by a retrofitted three-class Boeing 777-200LR from March 29.

Tickets for all routes can be booked via the Emirates website, mobile app, retail stores, or through travel agents.

The latest upgrades underscore Emirates’ continued investment in fleet renewal and customer experience as it strengthens its position across key global markets, including Uganda.
